The Project

This project is a dedicated Shiny Living Pokedex challenge for Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen (Nintendo Switch). The ultimate objective is to capture every single obtainable Pokémon in its shiny form within the confines of these Generation 3 games, relying solely on trading between the two versions.

Methodology & Tracking

I utilize original hardware and accurate emulation to hunt for shinies using standard methods such as Random Encounters (RE), Soft Resets (SR), and Breeding.

To maintain transparency and motivation, I built this custom tracking application. It logs every single encounter in real-time. When a shiny is encountered, it is logged with proof, updating the global statistics and the Pokédex progress instantly.

Data & Statistics

The platform generates various statistics to visualize the journey:

• Encounter Counts: Total resets, wild encounters, and breeding attempts per Pokémon.
• Shiny Collection: Tracking unique shiny captures vs. the total obtainable Dex.
• Luck Analysis: A "Luck" percentage calculated based on the standard 1/8192 odds.
• Weekly Progress: A breakdown of encounters performed each week against the schedule.
